Where do you find your linens? TOP

Sometimes I think they find me! Early on, I haunted local antique stores while my daughter took ballet lessons. I loved the gorgeous antique pieces but it was the fabric that I could afford, so…here I am.

Now that I sell my products locally (five crows), I meet people who are thrilled to find someone who can actually use their family’s linens and boy, do they have a lot!

My most favorite place to hunt for linens, though, is the Brimfield Antique show which is held three times a year and located about 25 miles west of me. There are acres upon acres of fields filled with dealers selling everything from junk (one man’s junk…) to show stunning pieces. It was fun to see a Keno brother (from Antiques Roadshow) cruising the field one year. If you ever go, arrive super early, get a large coffee, wear comfy shoes and don’t forget to get the fresh squeezed lemonade!

Are you new to this type of work? TOP

I think I was born to work with linen. As a young girl, it was my job to iron my dad’s handkerchiefs and our pillowcases – career training for sure! Also, I spent quite a bit of time with an aunt who used her ironing board as an excuse to watch her beloved soap operas. I’m glad I didn’t pick up that habit!

Are the chenille blankets durable? How do I care for them? TOP

They are tougher than iron! To clean your blanket (if your child allows it!), just pop them in the delicate cycle of your wash and tumble dry. I had a customer tell me that her daughter’s favorite blankie was two years old and better than ever!

How long does the scent of your lavender last? TOP

I use quality French lavender in all of my sachets with the addition of lavender essential oil which prolongs the life of the scent. A gentle squeeze will revive and renew the scent.
